Gujarat University to start 12 new medical courses

Most of the courses will be taught in the evening, thus helping students to obtain an additional degree or diploma while studying for major programme

Gujarat University has introduced 12 new medical courses in view of increase in demand for medical and paramedical courses. Two of them are certificate courses while the rest are diploma courses.

The courses which will start from the second week of June will be held at Civil Hospital, U N Mehta Hospital, Kidney hospital and Cancer Hospital.

Gujarat University Vice-Chancellor Parimal Trivedi claimed that this is for the first time that so many courses have been introduced simultaneously.                                                              
                                                                                                                   
Some of the new courses to be introduced are anesthesiologist assistant, neurology Assistants, CT scan and MRI technician, operation theater technician, physician assistant, electroencephalography, operation theatre manager, eco-cardiologist, kidney dialysis, medical radio therapy technician, medical lab technician, oncology nursing.

“Most of the courses will be taught in the evening. Thus helping students to get an additional degree or diploma while taking up a major programme. Employed persons will also benefit from this” Trivedi said.

“The fee for diploma course has been fixed Rs 15,000 and for certificate course Rs 10,000,” he added.
